The Finnish Society of Social Work Research
The Finnish Society of Social Work Research is a academic association founded in 1998 collecting together academics and practitioners in the field of social work.
Aims of the Society is to promote exchange of research results, expertise and experience between practitioners and academics, improve the position of social work research, and to develop international cooperation in the field of social work research. The Society also has close contacts with the Union of Professional Social Workers (Talentia).
Since 1999, the Society has organised the annual national Conference of Social Work Research. Plenary speakers of the Conference have been internationally and nationally recognized social work academics. In addition, the Society of Social Work Research organises regional seminars. It is active in international cooperation and involved in the Nordic Network of Societies of Social Work Research (FORSA).
The Finnish Society of Social Work Research has since 2002 published a thematic Yearbook of Social Work Research. Jointly with the Finnish Social Policy Association, it publishes Janus, the Finnish journal of social policy and social work research.
Sosiaalityön tutkimuksen seura – Föreningen för forskning i socialt arbete on vuonna 1998 perustettu tieteellinen yhdistys, jonka tarkoituksena on saattaa yhteen sosiaalityön tutkijoita ja käytännön toimijoita sekä toimia väylänä sosiaalityön tutkimuksen ja ammatillisten käytäntöjen välillä.
